A technology firm named Soft-bank at Japan unveiled their intelligent robot for sale on Saturday. The robot is very intelligently designed with “heart” not to identify human emotions but react against imitating feels like anger, joy and frustration.
The proposed robot has been displayed at Tokyo area Theatre to reporters and other guests. The robot has a hairless head with moving arms and has moving wheels instead of legs.
When it presented, it put all guests into great amazement by its casual conversation with guest, its party dance, sang a birthday melody and exhibited how it could capture family photos and treat as a partner. It emerged to give response with pleasure when it was praised by others.
The further details related to its sales out of Japan were still undecided. The CEO Masayoshi Son said, the robot has been displayed for overseas sales for next year. It has been sold for 198,000 yen ($1,600) in Japan and almost 1,000 robots will be available each month.
A monthly service cost of this robot will be 14,800 yen and other maintenance cost include extra 9,800 yen for its maintenance insurance. The CEO hopes to transform the whole business into black within coming five years.
According to CEO, the robot is capable of developing its own personality, depending on condition of how people communicate with it.
The robot named “Pepper” can easily memorize faces and programmed in a way that it looks happy when you give attention and looks sad if it’s not. It’ll also help sad people to cheer up and try to diminish agony.
Son told, the robot is 121cm tall, having weight of 28kg. He added, the world already has robots and machines to facilitate human beings but human beings also need love. “Our goal is to present a loving robot” he said.
Softbank offers Pepper for overseas sales or for commercial use from the fall, including rates of 1,500 yen. At last, the CEO said, “Love is something that leads people to happiness”.
